• I worked with Dr. Jessica Menold in the Technology and Human Research in Engineering Design (THRED) lab at Penn State, during which I:
• Designed and distributed surveys to ~200 participants and conducted 40+ interviews over 3 human subjects-based design research studies with a combined funding of ~$500,000 from the National Science Foundation
• Led a large scale data collection to study design students’ communicative patterns through surveys and interviews with ~120 participants
• Performed rigorous qualitative thematic analysis to identify how prototyping influences the communicative behaviours of student designers
• Leveraged A/B testing and statistical analysis to identify differences in cognitive load when processing information through different design media
• Conducted interviews over Zoom and used qualitative thematic analysis to research design students’ online learning experiences during the pandemic, and led meetings to review themes and calculate intercoder reliability
