My goal is to accelerate AAV gene therapies. Their prohibitively high cost is largely attributed to manufacturing challenges. In my EngD project, I am collaborating with industry partner Sartorius to tackle this key bottleneck via enhanced AAV vector bioprocessing. More specifically, I am utilising a high throughput stirred tank bioreactor system (Ambr15) and leveraging a design-of-experiment approach to optimise critical process parameters and show scalability to larger vessels.
