I am a biomedical research scientist in the filed of optoacoustic (OA, also known as photoacoustic, PA) imaging technology working as an Assistant Professor at IIT Bombay, India. Holding a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering, I am experienced in design, build up, testing & validation of optical, electromechanical systems firmware, image/signal processing and data analysis. Carrying over 10+ years of research experience, I am trained in the development of biomedical imaging systems, in particular optoacoustic imaging systems in internationally renowned research laboratories. During my PhD, I developed low-cost, portable, high-speed PLD-PAT system for small animal brain imaging applications (hemo-dynamics, vascularization, contrast agent uptake-clearance process). During my post-doc, I developed state-of-the-art ultrafast SVOT system for imaging whole-body biodynamics in rodents. I am keenly interested in healthcare technologies development and in translating them into clinics. I have published more than 25 peer-reviewed SCI journal papers including Nature Protocols, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Laser& Photonics Reviews, Photoacoustics, Photonics Research, Optics Letters, IEEE etc and one book (published by SPIE).
