Sander is a DNV engineer/consultant, department Energy Markets & Strategy, specialized in energy system modeling and analysis together with data acquisition, analytics and processing of the EU energy system. With a background in Energy & Environmental Sciences (MSc.) and Physics (BSc.), he has a wide knowledge in model design in the field of energy system and flexibility provision. This includes technical knowledge in several hydrogen electrolysis and fuel cell technologies, batteries, hydro, gas-fired power plants and thermodynamics. Together with his knowledge of the economic structure of the EU energy system (especially of the Netherlands), he has done several electricity market modeling or analytical project within DNV and a graduation project with Gasunie&TenneT improving flexible demand and generation modeling in the Netherlands. With expertise in software like Plexos, Python and Excel he contributes in DNV projects like EU Power Price Forecasting, revenue projections of interconnectors, power plants valuation, national energy system modeling and potential of flexible demand and supply on the wholesale market.As a former professional athlete, while doing his university degrees, he proved to have personal time management skills and can together work for the best possible result.
