Sander de Iongh was born in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands. He has three children and lives in Rotterdam. Mr. de Iongh holds a master degree in Social History. Amongst many other courses he also attended the leadership program ‘Leading Organisational Change’ at the Wharton Business School.As of February 2014, Mr. de Iongh worked at Rotterdam Partners as senior strategist. In February 2019 he started as Managing Director of 'Voor Goed, Rotterdam Impact Agency'From 2004, till 2018 Mr de Iongh was Secretary General of the International Advisory Board of the City of Rotterdam.He holds five (non-executive) board positions in Sports, Art, Urban development and Education.From November 2003 till February 2014 Mr. de Iongh was the Secretary General of the (EDBR). Members of the EDBR were leaders from the business community, knowledge institutions and government. From September 2002 until June 2004, Mr. de Iongh was employed by the City of Rotterdam as Chief Strategist at the City Development Corporation (OBR).Between 1981 and 2002 Mr. de Iongh held various different positions at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. From 1994 until 2002 he was the Managing Director at the Rotterdam School of Economics. During this time he was responsible for realising two major re-organisations within the department. From 1990 until 1994 he was the Managing Director of the Law School. Before that he managed various different schools and departments within the University, either as a Director or as an acting Director.
