I perform fundamental and applied research into how to support people in bringing about healthy behaviour change, in themselves and in others. My background is in the behavioural sciences (MSc, Social Psychology, Radboud University Nijmegen; PhD, Social Sciences, VU University Amsterdam) and design (BDes, Graphic Design, Artez Academy of Arts Arnhem). In my work, I use a range of methodologies: from research through design and participatory action research, to applied and fundamental behavioural scientific research. I am interested in the efficacy of designed artefacts (such as services, campaigns, products, and visual and interactive designs) and especially technological interventions in supporting people in sustainable healthy behaviour change.
