Understand and be aware of major work in progress and in planning. Know which personnel arecontrolling the work, what procedures are to be used, and whether training and qualificationrequirements have been established and are being met. Have the ability to verify that workactivities are being performed safely and efficiently based on periodic observations andspot-check reviews of frequency commensurate with the hazard and difficulty of the work. Qualified Facility Representative at WIPP Facility. Being readily available to the operating contractor personnel to facilitate the notification,if required, and reporting of occurrences and any safety or operational concerns. Have the capability to "Stop Work" when conditions exist that pose an imminent dangerto the health and safety of workers or the public or conditions exist that, if allowed tocontinue, could adversely affect the safe operation of, or could cause serious damage toand/or could result in the release, from the facility to the environment, radiological orchemical effluents that exceed regulatory limits of the equipment or the facility. Have the ability to spend a significant amount of their time in their assigned facilitiesobserving operations and assessing operating conditions. This includes routine day-to-daymonitoring of work performance through site/facility tours/walkthroughs, workobservation, document reviews, meeting attendance and participation, and ongoinginteraction with contractor workers, support staff, and management. 40 hour Experienced Miner qualified per MSHAregulations Performed Oversight of Organizational programs to include operational awarenessactivities, onsite reviews, assessments, self-assessments, performance evaluations, andother activities that involve evaluation of contractor organizations and Federalorganizations that manage or operate DOE sites, facilities, or operations Qualified Radiation Worker II qualifications
