During General Assembly's Web Development Immersive (WDI) program—a coding "bootcamp"​ in the Flatiron District of Manhattan—I rediscovered and built on undergraduate programming experience, learning the fundamentals of both back- and front-end web application design and implementation. WDI's rigorous class structure, filled with daily exercises and nightly assignments as well as three major projects, boosted me from a novice to Junior Full-Stack Web Developer capability in only twelve weeks. Well worth my time and effort, WDI has prepared me for this exciting industry and has inspired me to continue to develop new ideas, learn new packages, play in new sandboxes.

— Drafted new patent applications, including technical specifications, legal claims, and explanatory figures, for several big-name technology companies. — Successfully prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in diverse areas of electrical and mechanical engineering, optics, computer systems and software. — Consulted with inventors to investigate patentable inventive concepts and ensure compliance with enablement and other statutory subject matter requirements. — Performed searches and drafted opinions for both domestic and foreign freedom to operate.— Counseled and assisted clients to procure patents directed to various industry standards.— Analyzed patentability, infringement, and validity issues for patent applications, with particular focus on effective strategies for successful prosecution of reexamination and reissue applications.— Successfully prosecuted numerous appeals of regular and reissue patent applications, and presented oral arguments before the Board of Patent Appeals & Interferences.— Analyzed prosecution trends and recent court opinions to formulate strategies for ensuring the best interests of the client, and prepared and lectured on the same.— Researched case law to advise trial counsel and determine effective litigation strategies.— Assisted in securing new business by researching and briefing partners on prospective clients and representing the associate work force while in sales meetings.

— Reviewed and examined patent applications in the area of medical imaging with particular focus on diagnostic methods and equipment for ophthalmology.— Performed quick and efficient substantive prior art searches by constructing context sensitive logic strings to analyze patent publications, technical literature, and databases of foreign and domestic patent specifications for concepts similar to those being applied for patent.— Negotiated with applicants and patent practitioners to resolve outstanding issues.— Trained junior examiners in technological and procedural aspects of examination.
