Tilburg Cowboys is an artist collective with a social heart.Tilburg Cowboys produces artistic interventions and projects since 2001. With our projects we aim to raise awareness for social issues. We want to encourage people to wonder, we want to promote dialogue, and we want to strive for mutual understanding.It is important to us that our projects are widely supported and deep-rooted in society. We feel that the purpose, the impact and relevance must be recognized, preferably before it is labelled as art. With the projects we interact and cooperate with audiences as well as partners; the projects can not exist without them.The social objective tempt us to find the right medium, the right team and the right context for every project or concept.

Arts & Humanity is a minor program at the Academy of Fine Arts. 'In what way can artist and designers contribute to society? What is the responsibilty of the artist and what are his ethics?' As a lecturer I challenge students to think about their role, their commitment and responsibility in society.In this program we worked for, and with, partners like the IND, COA, Humanity House, Trouw, and Amnesty International.
