As a data scientist in the Dutch health care industry I analyse large data sets to reduce costs and improve quality. I am an experienced researcher with an engineering and environmental science background, an out-of-the-box thinker, sceptic by nature and equipped with a problem solving attitude. I enjoy analysing large datasets and presenting my findings in a clear and coherent manner.I am eager to obtain new knowledge and acquire new skills which is reflected by working my way up from the lowest level in the Dutch education system (VMBO) to a PhD in natural sciences. This educational journey includes a BSc. in electrical engineering, a BSc. in industrial engineering, a MSc. in environmental science and an environmental physics oriented PhD (faculty of mathematics and natural sciences Groningen).During my scientific career I have developed new techniques to measure and analyse greenhouse gas emissions and written 16 scientific research papers (6 of which first author). My skills include: data analysis/programming (R, Python, Delphi, Filemaker Pro), electrical and mechanical engineering, writing and presenting (both scientific as well as for a general public) and university teaching.
