About Sander Van Til

Originally graduated in the field of high energy physics, I am currently a scientist in the nuclear research field where I investigate the behaviour of materials and fuels for nuclear fission and fusion applications. In this role I work as lead scientist in teams that develop and coordinate irradiation experiments in the High Flux Material Test Reactor (HFR Petten) and various subsequent (post-irradiation) material characterization in the Hot Cell Laboratory. am motivated by contributing to development of nuclear technology and increasing awareness on the potential of nuclear power for society and in the energy transition.I enjoy working with students and occassionaly give lectures to a younger generation on nuclear technology and physics in general.
