This role with Climate Action Network International involves raising funds for the CAN Secretariat's work on global advocacy and campaigning on climate justice, and support to Global South nodes as necessary

I worked as the Global Programme Funding Advisor raising funds for ActionAid federation's work on Resilient Livelihoods and Climate Justice. The work involved raising funds from institutional and philanthropic funders for work on agroecology and resilience, women smallholder farmer's rights, protection of natural resources, land and natural resource rights, climate justice for over 30 AA country offices based in Africa, Asia and Latin America. This role made me see first hand how work on climate change is inherently linked to social justice. Systemic change that addresses exclusion (in many cases multiple exclusions faced by those worst affected by climate impacts) holds the key to win the battle against climate change. The range of projects for which I was instrumental in raising funds for include agriculture value chains (pork and goat, vegetables and fruits), land rights, fisheries- inland and coastal, access to markets for women smallholders, Net Zero/Real Zero, climate induced migration, etc.

Worked as Business Development Manager-Asia providing support to country offices of ActionAid to raise institutional funds for work on human rights, land rights, governance etc.

Research on Global Value Chains of leather footwear sector. Understanding and researching garment, automobile and leather footwear MSMEs and the relationship between Tier 1 suppliers and brands. Devised programmes for young adults and children of workers in the garment sector in Delhi NCR, to increase their agency.

Conducted baseline studies and evaluations for a few national NGOs, covering aspects of land rights, indigenous people's rights, and community led water management in drought prone areas.

I joined ActionAid India in November 2011 and I lead the team that is responsible for institutional fund-raising for ActionAid.

Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) was where I started work in the development sector. I had the chance to work in different roles and learn about several aspects of child rights- child protection and education. Specifically, child labour, bonded labour, trafficking of children for forced labour, prevention of child labour through work with the communities who fall prey to child labour and trafficking, education as the best form of rehabilitation, I also had the opportunity to contribute to several aspects of work- mainly grant making, project management, creation of content for external communication, some important policies of rehabilitation of released child labourers. For an year, I was also the executive assistant to the Chairperson of Global March Against Child Labour which exposed me to the international arena of child rights.
