Sandhya Deepak was born and raised in New Delhi, India, but now lives in Australia with her husband, Sam, and two gorgeous boys, Jayden and Aaron. Before getting married, professionally, Sandhya worked for an international public relations firm, servicing well-known clients such as Ford India and PepsiCo India. Before having kids she helped her husband in managing a few hospitality projects that included both admin and 'in-kitchen' tasks. After having kids, for almost six years, she has loved being a full-time mum, and stayed busy looking after her two energetic boys, whilst occasionally writing a children's book - The Gift of Love! 'The Gift of Love' is about showing love to others. Sandhya strongly believes that the principles illustrated in this book, if understood at an early age, will deeply influence and help shape the character of children.She takes her role as a mother seriously and is passionate about education in general and teaching her children the importance of kindness, empathy, social awareness, forgiveness and how to love others, in order to support the social-emotional learning of, not just her boys, but other children in the wider community. With that objective in mind Sandhya decided to study about School Based Education Support to start her journey as a teacher aide/ learning assistant / education support officer. Influenced by the kind of books she read as a kid, she aspired to be a forensic scientist, but in her senior school year, she was drawn toward dancing. She was a dance instructor whilst studying English literature at university, and one of her proudest moments was to perform at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2006 in Melbourne, Australia, as a part of the Indian contingent.Definitely not one to be the loudest in a group of people, Sandhya considers herself to be an introvert but loves to listen to other people’s stories. She loves her church community at Grace Bible Church, Springwood, where she serves in the kids ministry and strives to get to know Jesus more deeply. She renews her energy by reading, listening to podcasts, crocheting, and Bible journaling.
