I have the privilege of standing on the shoulders of the amazing leaders at Platte River Academy Charter School to launch and transition its newly opened preschool programs as the best in the Highlands Ranch/Littleton area. As a part of the inaugural staff (2010), I worked with an amazing team of leaders to grow a Pre-K through 12th grade school that experienced phenomenal student growth through the hard work of diligent and caring teachers and administrators. We successfully fostered a culture of joy and a community of families that are connected. Students are thriving!As the Primary Principal, my primary focus were the students and the staff I was privileged to lead. Recruiting, hiring, supporting, resourcing, and equipping staff, while monitoring their growth, ensured that they could do their very best to help the students reach their potential.Close attention to the technology, art, music and physical education programs allowed me to share and cultivate in others the passion I have for making connections across content and fostering the development of individual passions in each child.In addition to assuming responsibilities within the elementary grades, I completed the necessary steps to ensure a fully-licensed preschool and enrichment program that maintains high quality and developed a waiting list.

Planned, coordinated and managed special events: conferences, educational programs, auctions, dinners, lunches, teas, receptions, and celebrations.Coordinated community outreaches and service projects that focused on meeting the needs of families and children by serving them in practical ways: Winter clothing drives, school supply drives, Christmas gifts for foster and county assisted children, etc.. · Managed all aspects of 3rd and 4th Grade classrooms. This included, but was not limited to classroom management and strategy, curriculum design and development, assessment and documentation, parent teacher partnership, adherence to school goals and policies.· With the support of the principal, adapted a very formal and traditional curriculum to meet the needs of a variety of learning styles by creatively adjusting lesson plans to reflect a more “whole-child” approach while maintaining scope and sequence and keeping content aligned with school goals. Standardized test scores in the ensuing years reflected increasing effectiveness of this method.
