I love to learn about things and what makes people tick. Now, as an entrepreneur and CPA, I look for the stories behind the numbers and help the people behind the business find ways to grow and thrive in any environment.As a Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience in operational leadership, financial control, human resource management and administration, I still have that same keen sense of curiosity as when I started my career. I enjoy rolling up my sleeves to get to the bottom of things and believe that age is no barrier to learning new things. Looking back, I am thankful for all the opportunities and life experiences that have shaped me and made my life so rich and meaningful.To some, accounting may be boring but it has taken me around the world and provided numerous and varied experiences. The accounting profession may be disrupted by technology but accounting is more than just the crunching of numbers. It is learning about how we relate to others, knowing how to build relationships and work together in a multicultural and volatile environment. By nature, technology is neither good nor bad - it is the use to which it is put that makes the difference. Ultimately, it is people who are at the heart of a business. A business can prosper with the right vision, right values, right people and right use of technology.
