As Executive Director of Its My Community Initiative Sandino led the growth of a small charity with a $40,000 annual budget to a comprehensive community based organization promoting family stability and workforce development innovations for the criminal justice involved and citizens returning from incarceration, the long term unemployed, those accessing TANF and SNAP benefits, and other marginalized members of the community with annual budgets of over $4 million dollars. He built partnership strategies that shifted access and engagement with the employment system across the state. This included conceptual estimates, post award design build and project buyout.
