To date, my main research contribution is in the area of Tuberculosis policy development, with a focus on for the eleven countries in the WHO South East Asia Region. Some countries (Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia) have also used my technical support for framing their National Strategic Plans (NSP) on Tuberculosis. I was sought after by the Stop TB Partnership to provide modelling analysis in support of their most recent Global Plan (2023-2030) to End TB. As this is an important document for global TB strategy, it was a significant privilege to take part. As a member of the National Task Force - ICMR, during the COVID-19 pandemic period, I supported the Indian Council of Medical Research, the leading institute for biomedical research in India, for in planning various policy decisions in for controlling COVID-19 in India. More recently I have got the opportunity to estimate the national and state level TB burden for India through Central TB Division (CTD) and with the close collaboration of TB Monitoring, Evaluation and Strategic Information Unit (TME) of the Global Tuberculosis Programme (GTB), WHO-HQ, Geneva, Switzerland.
