I was attracted to UWGT because we apply in-depth research and strategic thinking to social issues with a focus on building strong communities, helping kids be all they can be, and moving people from poverty to possibility. We do this by expanding awareness of needs and issues and working with communities – residents and social service providers as well as the private and public sectors – to develop and implement solutions that respond to urgent needs and shift broader systems. This appeals to me as someone who grew up in Toronto and who believes in cross-sector collaboration. Since starting, I’ve been amazed at the types and numbers of people in the community working with us as volunteers, donors and advocates for change. Let me know if you want to know more about how to get involved.
