Coordinate grant research, applications, and reporting. I coordinate marketing and communications efforts, creating videos and other promotional materials to get the word out about our services in Ketchikan, Metlakatla, and Prince of Wales island. Oftentimes, that means sharing the success stories of individuals who have received support services to help them live independently and participate in the community.

Prepare scripts for our weekly talk show, Earthspeak Radio, including researching current environmental news, preparing interview questions for guests, and developing discussion questions for the panel. Communicate with team members to plan and organize future show topics and invite guests to speak about the environment, politics, science, and food. Edit past episodes of the show, and upload them to Audiomack account for any listeners who missed the on-air show. Manage the Earthspeak Twitter account, by sharing links to stories we talk about on the show.

Cheerfully sold produce to customers while answering questions about vegetables and recipes. Set up 4-tent stand at summer farmers' markets 3-4 times per week, arranged and restocked vegetables when not assisting customers. Planted, weeded, harvested and cleaned vegetables at the farm, watered flowers.

Hoofers Mountaineering Club: Organized logistics and secured funding for “Reel Rock 10” film showing for 292 people at the Wisconsin Union movie theater. Recorded meeting discussions and led meetings when president was absent, and emailed out meeting notes to club every week. Recruited potential members at student organization fair. Organized small group trips to get out and climb!

Designed flyers for fundraising events using Piktochart and monthly newsletters using MailChimp. Met with supervisor weekly to discuss progress from the past week, and goals for the upcoming one. Managed Twitter account by tweeting several times per week about upcoming Outlet and volunteer-related events. Assisted in development of WordPress site, setting up menus, photographs and writing page descriptions.

Lab team member in the Marin-Spiotta Biogeography Lab, part of the Department of Geography at UW-Madison. Sieved, weighed, and packaged soil samples for carbon-content analysis, as part of an NRCS soil survey.

Wrote monthly 500-word articles, meeting deadlines for online and print publication. Attended and reviewed local arts events, including music concerts, art galleries and talks, theatrical performances, and book festivals. Worked closely with editors to revise stories before publishing.

Monitored and removed extensive areas of invasive plant species via chemical, mechanical, and manual effort, covering 600+ acres of prairie and woodland at Faville Grove Sanctuary in southeast Wisconsin. Collected native plant seeds for the next year's planting and conducted survey of breeding birds. Learned to identify native Wisconsin plant species.
