Ben successfully finished both projects, which are expected to be seen by millions of users worldwide by Q4 2016, after analysis and experiments complete. Out of all of the interns I have seen at Google in the past three years, Ben may have acclimated the best to Google’s end-to-end development process. He rapidly learned the technology stacks needed for his projects and committed a large number of well-organized changelists. Ben was an outstanding communicator, working closely with several full-time Googlers and other interns across different teams and locations, and showed considerable initiative and independence in planning out his projects and resolving obstacles. Ben has consistently demonstrated a dedication to developing quality software. His first commit was a large-scale refactoring that had been requested for almost a year, and all of his changes have included thorough unit tests. In addition to the primary project’s functionality, Ben implemented A/B testing, internationalization, counterfactual logging, and experiment setup. Ben was able to create features that are both helpful for users and have potential revenue impact, and has made it easy for other team members to add additional tips in the future.
