I oversaw 48 clubs in the Canadian Federation of University Women - CFUW - Ontario Council.These clubs comprise approximately 5,000 women provincially. Formed in 1978, CFUW Ontario Council is a voluntary, self-funded, non-profit organization governed by a 13 member Executive Board. It is affiliated with the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) and Graduate Women International. Its members seek to improve public policy in education, status of women and girls, environment, human rights, peace and justice. CFUW, nationally, is mandated to enhance the status of women CFUW holds special consultative status with the United Nations (ECOSOC) and belongs to the Education Committee of the Canadian Sub-Commission to UNESCO.
