This set of Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) Programs are funded by the Riverside County Department of Mental Health which incorporate three (3) core evidence-based practices; Effective Black Parenting Program (EBPP) for parents of African-American children age 2-18, Africentric Youth and Family Rites of Passage Program (ROP) for African-American males ages 11-15 and Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Trauma in Schools for African-American youth ages 10-15.Our current BRAAF program participants reside in seriously underserved, impoverished and marginalized communities in the Desert Region. Our gained knowledge as enthusiastic providers of the BRAAF programs tells us that the necessity of increasing awareness about prevention and early intervention is resolute to building resilience in the African-American families of this region.
