Prof. Dr. min. Sandra Bils is a lutheran pastor and theologian. She works at midi – protestant institute for missional church development and profile formation in social welfare in Berlin, Germany. She holds a honorary professorship at the YMCA University of Applied Sciences in Kassel with a chair for missional church development and also teaches at Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena.From 2013-2019, Sandra led the ecumencial movement Kirchehoch2. Together with her catholic colleague Maria Herrmann, she supported church plantings and innovative initiatives within the protestant and catholic church. Before joining Kirchehoch2, Sandra served as a Lutheran pastor in parishes in the north of Germany.Sandra studied in Bielefeld, Berlin, Portland and Hannover. She holds a degree in Theology and also finished as a Doctor of Ministry at George Fox University Portland, USA. In her dissertation she focused on the relevance of contextualization concerning “Fresh Expressions of Church” and graduated with the “Distinguished Dissertation Award 2015” at George Fox University, Portland.Sandra Bils is a founding member of Gemeinsam retten – united4rescue e.V.. She is member of a steering comittee at German protestant Kirchentag (Präsidialversammlung des Deutschen Evangelischen Kirchentags), member of the advisory board of Erprobungsräume in the Evangelical Church of Central Germany and member of the board of innovation at Fresh Expressions Germany. In 2020 she was a nominee of the Edition F award.
