I am a recent UMass Boston graduate with a Master's degree in Gerontology Aging Services Management and I am seeking employment working with or on behalf of older adults. I have experience in care plans, admissions, service procurement, transition to home, medical service and supplies management, and managing the financial/personal affairs of disabled/elder individuals. In the course of my duties at Beaumont, I would plan and execute recreational activities, at lunch I would assist and supervise in the dining room of the memory care unit, and implement activity programs in the memory care unit when needed. My skills also include project and process planning, and coordination of services for the individuals with disabilities and the elderly. I have the ability to develop a rapport with older individuals, my time as an Ombudsman and working in recreation has given me the experience necessary to gain their trust and to work to recognize and resolve problems, such as trouble with other residents and staff, fear, anger, depression, and behavior triggers. My experience also includes working as an Office Administrator/Executive Assistant; I believe that my experience in planning and executing daily operations for fast-paced departments including sales/marketing, quality assurance, and human resources/recruiting are transferable skills that will benefit any organization. I am proficient in Microsoft Office, organizational management, and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize my workload. I truly enjoy working with the elderly. They have a lot to teach us, if only we listen....
