I have the privilege of living, working and practicing social work on land that belongs to those who lived here before colonization - those who made their homes along the shores and waterways of what we now call the Pacific Northwest. These unceded territories and lands were stolen from the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island, including the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. As a registered social worker with over 25 years experience in direct practice, health care leadership, project management, program development, clinical analysis, workflow design/redesign, and quality improvement. I have extensive experience working with homeless and marginalized communities and with individuals facing mental health and substance use problems. I have worked in various settings including: primary care clinic, community settings, and acute, as well as outreach to client homes and facilities. I endeavor to build a trusting relationship with everyone I work with: focussing on strengths, transparency, and compassion. I believe in doing the very best I can for everyone I work with, and in every project I take on. I care about my profession and about providing clients and colleagues alike with the kind of integrity and caring I like to be treated with. I believe that authentic relationships are foundational to collaboration and success.
