Responsible for the running of the Andrology Clinic: collection of samples, ensuring the relevant patient data is accurately gathered. Daily update of patient information attending the clinic and making sure that patient results are adequately e-filled. Assisting with the provision of the relevant test kits to surgeries such as General Practices, Fertility Clinics. Provision of general laboratory duties such as filling of analysed slides, sample disposal and overall duties to assist biomedical scientists.

Book in and process patient samples for analysis. Perform Sickle Solubility test, Acid Agarose Gel assay, Isoelectric Focusing assay and G6PD screens. Set up and run of VNBS HPLC analyser, interpretation of chromatography results. Entering HPLC results into OMNI. Assist the BMS with set up of HPLC analysers: daily maintenance checks, quality controls runs when required. Health & Safety audits. Gather data and enter it into OPMS. Send patient results to requesters. Collect information for forth-night Variant meetings (case-studies). Deal with telephone enquiries and give out patients results when required. General housekeeping: departmental reagents/stock checks.

Book in patient samples into Pathnet laboratory system. Processing of clinical and research samples. Performing : Sickle solubility test, G6PD assay. Recording of daily activities in OPMS (Operation Performance Management System). Carrying out documentation control and general support to BMS (Biomedical Scientists).

Receipt of specimens. Book in of internal/external specimens into Winpath laboratory system. Tracking of external specimens. Loading urgent blood samples into automated analysers. Providing general assistance to the Central Specimen Reception team.
