I completed a 26 week internship along with passing the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Board's exam to become a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. I worked in the Dietary, Environmental Services, Medical Records, Social Services, Nursing and Administrative departments to contribute to the functioning of each within a long term care facility. I met formally and informally met with residents and their loved ones to discuss their psychosocial needs and developed plans to meet these needs. I investigated resident and their loved one's complaints, documented my findings and discussed with them possible remedies. I was instrumental in the implementation of a new food service software system. I also coordinated the hiring of two people to fill key supervisory positions.

Organized the University of Louisiana at Monroe site for our participation in the Institute of Dementia Research & Prevention"s Louisiana Aging Brain Study (LaBrainS). Administered cognitive and memory assessments to older adult LaBrainS participants . Collected participant's files complied by other examiners. Followed testing protocols ensure confidentiality and to score assessments. Recorded data into respective databases and insured proper storage of participant's study materials.

I scheduled and supervised student workers assigned to the check the attendance of student-athletes. I worked to aid student athletes as they completed their class assignment while supervising their study halls. Dr. Kathy Parker, ULM's Coordinator of Academic Counseling was my immediate supervisor.As a graduate assistant to Dr. Karen Kopera-Frye, the Joseph A. Biedenharn Endowed Chair in Gerontology, I administered, scored cognitive and memory tests to adults over the age of 60 for Pennington Medical Group's Institute of Dementia Research and Prevention Louisiana Brains Study (LABrainS). I co-wrote a paper on the LABrainS results and participated in creating a survey and writing a report on resulting data administered to potential members of Louisiana Psychological Association.
