Two 24 hour shifts in the month, where the telephone service gets a notification about an animal from our local community. Based on the notification I decide to pick up animal that is ill, lost or injured and decide what action to take. This is dependent on the situation, the kind of animal and the possible ownership of the animal. I work with lots of local organisations, such as the pound of the animal ambulance, the vets, the bird refuge and the porcupine refuge to name a few. Naturally there's a paper trail that needs to be followed and there are meetings throughout the month to ensure good communications between ambulance chauffeurs and the telephone service.Also on the board of directors, assisting my director of ambulance services and organising the training of new and existing chauffeurs.
