I cannot really remember not having anxiety, the feeling of constant worry, intrusive thoughts that did not go away no matter how hard I tried, or the fear of being judged by others. Does this sound familiar? Yet thinking back just a couples of years, I have started my masters in social work, and all of the sudden I started to understand that those challenges I had was called anxiety. Now as a newly licensed master social worker, I developed this passion to understand anxiety and to help others who feel the same way. Helping with understanding how our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are connected, I use mainly cognitive behavioral therapy that is a heavily research approach for not just anxiety, but also depression. Through my empathy, compassion, and non-judgemental approach, I am able to listen to my clients, work with them in a collaborative way, and help them cope with their challenges without the fear of their anxiety or worry constantly being part of their life.
