I was employed by Thomas Smyth & Sons Ltd. in 2001 to set up and operate a functioning office for its umbrella group which consisted of two pubs, Smyth’s Malahide and The Cock Tavern Swords. They also had a property portfolio.I was responsible for the office administration including but not limited to the setting up of Sage Line 50 Accounts, Sage Micropay, Astrow Clock in system.I entered all the documentation including end of night cash reports, invoices, preparing Vat and P30’s end of year reports and filing with Ros. I had full responsibility for the online banking system and reconciling bank statements and creditors ledger each month. I worked closely with our Accountants and brought all accounts to trial balance.I was also responsible for any HR duties relating to the employment of staff, disciplinary procedures, contracts and representing the company at meetings with staff or state bodies.The Company also held a vast property portfolio both here in Ireland, UK, Dubai & Spain. I was responsible for liaising with administrators to ensure that all taxes and duties were paid. I also ensured that all rents were received and new tenants appointed where applicable. In Ireland I would liaise with local letting agents to process new tenants, maintain apartments and organise new re-fits. I organised that all were registered with the PRTB.I also worked very closely with the Managing Director as his personal assistant, managing his daily diary, looking after flight details and any adhoc duties that were required.
