I decided to go back to working at an elementary school to experience what it's like to be a teacher in the Standard-driven, high stakes environment of today. Before work and on weekends, I teach English online to students in China. I have a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida. While there, I specialized in coursework related to language/literacy and English as a Second Language/Bilingual Education. I have had the opportunity to review and develop online professional development courses and to be a teacher education faculty member at Georgia College & State University, Tennessee Tech University, and Flagler College (Tallahassee site).Specialties: developing/editing/reviewing educational professional development courses, ESL, bilingual education, parental involvement and education, first and second language acquisition, and literacy education
