Sandra Hauser heads the Litigation and Arbitration practice in the New York office of Dentons and serves on the Firm's US Policy and Planning Committee. She co-leads the Class Action/Financial Litigation team and is part of the Firm's Chambers-recognized Insurance Litigation team. Sandra represents companies facing class actions and complex commercial litigation, across a wide range of substantive areas, including securities, consumer fraud and deceptive trade practices, product liability, antitrust, health care and major insurance disputes. She has successfully represented clients in trial and appellate courts, in arbitrations, and before federal and state regulators. Recent experience:•Defeated class certification on behalf of an investment advisory firm in a securities fraud class action charging misrepresentations and omissions relating to revenue sharing and the placement of client assets in mutual funds.•Representing major financial institutions and individual defendants in securities litigation, regulatory investigations and related disputes involving mortgages and/or mortgage-backed securities, including matters against the US Federal Housing Finance Administration (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac), state regulators and institutional purchasers of residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS).•Successfully represented a major pharmaceutical company in a class action suit alleging securities fraud in disclosures surrounding a product release.•Successfully defended a major national retail pharmacy against a fraud/RICO class action regarding pharmaceutical pricing. •Defeated allegations of consumer fraud and product liability against a pharmaceutical client following a nationwide product recall.•Defending a hospital system against antitrust charges related to wage suppression and unlawful information exchange.•Successfully represented a major international insurance brokerage firm against allegations by key regulators.
