I have 30+ years experience in HIM and Medical Coding. I hold the AHIMA certification CCS and CCS-P as well as AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer. I currently hold the position of HIM Clinical Liaison for Inspira Health in South Jersey. I started my HIM career as a transcriptionist, held positions as a coder, coding manager, Director of Coding Services and advanced to an NLU Coding Product Manager. As the NLU Product Manager, I worked with software developers, engineers and content teams working on the NLU engine. I kept dialogue open with the customers and responded to any questions or suggestions. It has been a rewarding position working and learning in the artificial intelligence arena and seeing where the future of medical coding is moving. The HIM/Medical Coding field has afforded many opportunities for me to improve and grow. And in this ever changing HIM world, I will continue to improve and grow as opportunities come my way.

Nlu Coding Product Manager (Previously Director Of Coding Services)M*Modal (Previously Medquist) Dec 1999 - Dec 2017I was the NLU Coding Product Manager at M*Modal. In this position I used my extensive experience in medical coding including ED with E/M, facility & professional, SDS, ASC, inpatient, interventional radiology, ancillary services, LTACH, inpatient Rehab to educate the NLU engine. My team would review NLU results both before and after a coder completes the coding of the chart and provide feed back to the engine. Set up medical language dictionaries for the engine to code from. Running accuracy reports to zero in on the areas that need additional input with the engine. I would also contribute to the workflow coding product and did UAT testing for the developers. I traveled to facilities with the sales group to demo the NLU product. I have experience in auditing and training & educating coders. I would provide training to the customer coders and other users. I would also participate in product shows and demo the various coding products. Previous to my current position, I was the Director of Coding Services for M*Modal. In this position I ran the day to day activities for the coding services department. This included managing anywhere from 10 to 50+ coders and QA/Auditing team. Traveled to customer sites.
