Sandra is a competent and focused laboratory scientist, Biosafety and Biosecurity expert with close to decade of experience in Laboratory science and Biosafety and Biosecurity nationally, regionally and internationally. Sandra is Brown Univiersity Pandemic Center Biosecurity Game Changers Fellow 2024, UNODA’s Youth for Biosecurity fellow 2023, Africa Union Biosafety and Biosecurity subject matter expert (BRM and Biological Waste Management), Global Community Bio Fellow 2021, an International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA) certified professional – Biorisk Management, member Biosafety and Biosecurity Association of Uganda (BBAU), Uganda BWC stakeholders forum, iGEM safety and Security committee and the International Working Group on Strengthening the Culture of Biosafety and Biosecurity and Responsible Conduct in the Life Sciences. She is Co-founder and Executive Director of Nuo Bioscience, a consulting organization providing services in Biosafety and Biosecurity, Quality Management Systems strengthening and Bioinformatics and Data science. Her contributions to laboratory systems strengthening, Biosafety, and Biosecurity have earned her several honors and awards, including recognition among the 50 women making the world safer from biological and toxin weapons at 50 years of the BWC at the 9th RevCon in Geneva in 2022.
