File reviewIn my most recent assignments I worked with a school to establish the core policy and procedures to gain eligibility for Title IV finding. In a prior consulting role I worked with a group of schools to prepare for a US DOE program review preparation and expanded my scope to expand my review to all campus locations. I reviewed and updated policy and procedures.

I am an experienced Financial Aid professional with over 30 years experience working in large multi locations.

Responsible for the annual SFA audit, responding to complaints regarding student loan debt, internal desk-top Compliance audits of the corporate Financial Aid Processing department and Veterans correspondence.

During my time at Lincoln Educational Services I was tasked with updating policies and form to ensure compliance with U.S. DOE regulations. I was responsible for cash and packaging calls for nine of the campus locations. I was on the team to arrange training for Financial Aid Directors for all Lincoln locations

As of 5/1/09 I transferred from Vice President of Financial Services to the Vice President of Compliance where I am responsible for the administration of developing a more comphrensive internal audit and training program that covers Title IV administration, ACICS, ABHES and ACCSC accreditation visit preparation, US DOE program reviews and State regulatory compliance issues. I am responsible for the submission of annual ACICS and COE reports, IPEDS and Campus Crime statistics.

My current responsibilities include oversight and improvement of the centralized financial services while providing technical assistance and training for all 7 campus locations. Until 01/2008 I was also responsible for the oversight of the campus and corporate business office operations. In my five years at FCC I developed and enhanced the corporate office operation by gradually centralizing every part of financial aid processing with the exception of the student packaging process and successfully converted over 50% of the loan volume to the Direct Loan program. The centralization required a complete conversion to a different financial aid management system which also had to be integrated with the company’s management system. The conversion greatly increased the company’s ability to ensure tight compliance while allowing the campus to focus on the student. In 2008 I was on the team to develop and launch an in-house lending agreement when the alternative loan market dried up. In 2006 I assisted the company in an acquisition and due diligence of two locations and headed up the conversion of the both locations to our management system and academic structure. I coordinate school and corporate staff to ensure every department is prepared for audits, accreditation visits, State and Guarantor reviews. I am responsible for the annual submission of the FISAP, State Grant and SFA EZ-Audits. Over the years I created various training manuals for group and individual training and continuously enhance the policy and procedure manual as regulations change. The annual internal audits results have continued to improve each year; for the most recent year there was no finding for one OPE ID and one for the other OPE ID.

My responsibilities included oversight of the Miami operation which included Title IV Compliance, Loan Management, R2T4 and Federal Title IV refund processing departments. In addition, I prepared school staff for their annual internal audits, federal program reviews, state or guarantor reviews. I composed corrective action plans for audit findings and maintained the internal policy and procedure manual. I supervised two field employees who assisted me with conducting internal audits and with the training and development of Financial Aid Directors and Advisors at our 15 school locations. Together we ensured each campus received the support needed to be in compliance with federal regulations and meet their collection and packaging goals. I performed 60-day follow-up visits after each training and coordinated I conducted annual training for Financial Aid Directors and New Aid Officers. During my time at Whitman I was a key part of the team that saw the company through a conversion from Eddge to Class, which was a yearlong project. Then, I was part of the conversion from Class to Campus View. Both projects greatly enhanced my knowledge of all aspects of the entire school operation. In addition, I saw the company through four due diligence audits when the company was being reviewed for purchase

Responsibilities included supervision and training of Financial Aid Directors and Advisors at 5 school locations. I developed and implemented policies and procedures, administered all Title IV programs including the reconciliation and PMS 272 reporting. Managed annual compliance audits and quarterly internal audits. I performed frequent internal audits to ensure compliance. The 12 months of my employment I also assisted graduates with placement assistance.

Responsibilities included supervision and training of campus employees, collections, management of Title IV aid administration and compliance, weekly and monthly file reviews and federal reporting and file reviews.

While employed at TGSLC I worked in Loan Guarantee Operations, Student Assistance Support Services, and Compliance departments. Each of these departments broadened my knowledge of SFA and gave me the building blocks needed to enter the private education profession.
