I am a Certified Medical Assistant with 8 years’ experience in both paper and electronic charting. I have used several EMR systems throughout the years, such as eCare, eClinical Works and Athena. As Lead Medical Assistant at Cornerstone New Baltimore Family Practice. My current role is a wide variety. I currently function as the office-billing specialist, submitting all claims to insurances and working on denied claims. I work as a Medical Assistant, rooming patients, drawing blood, administering medications and assisting the providers. I order all supplies for the office, front office supplies and back office supplies. I function as a front desk specialist, scheduling patients for appointments, taking phone messages and insurance verification. I also submit reports to St. John Providence Health Systems to maintain the office compliance with Joint Commission and Patient Centered Medical Home.
