I work with The Business Partnership formerly known as the MET Partnership Ltd on a self-employed basis providing HR support and assistance to small and medium sized businesses by:- Creating Employee Handbooks- Creating Employee Contracts- Introducing Policies and Procedures- Providing an Induction Programme, which covered all aspects of their employment, Risk Assessments, Health and Safety and Fire Training- Introducing an appraisal system or reviewing existing programme- Supporting Managers through Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures, and other methods of Performance Management.- Providing guidance on Absence Management- Providing support with regard to recruiting personnel for different types of companies. Interviewing candidates and providing the company with specific interview questions, and interview assessment documentation.I have also worked extensively on redundancy within The Business Partnership and with other clients. In addition I have been responsible for ensuring training took place within a Construction Company and that it was and recorded so that they could claim the maximum benefit of grants available to them over the period of a year. Achieved IIP status for the Business Partnership.

Duties and responsibilities include:- Assessor for Assessment centres with Intercontinental Hotels- Facilitating induction to all Personnel- Managing the Human Resources Department ensuring compliance with Company and Hotel policies, procedures and standards. All current local government regulations pertaining to employee practice.- Providing a professional and caring personnel service to all management and staff through initiatives such as Staff Consultative committee, Employee of the Month and social events- Participates in preparation of the hotel’s Strategic Plan and Goals programme.- Responsible for the control of the HR budget- Supported training in Disciplinary procedures, Disability Act, HR Workshop and Complaint Handling.- Responsible for Health and Safety matters ensuring Health and Safety Departmental audits are carried out and followed up. Ensuring Risk assessments are updated on a six monthly basis- Chairing all disciplinary issues- Dealing with Union with regards to Disciplinary, Grievances, and Pay- Compiling various reports and statistics for Head office and General Manager- Monitoring appraisals and ensuring succession plans are fair- Providing advice and support to all HODs on all HR issues including employment law, performance management and absence management- Facilitating Absence management meetingsIn January 2006, I completed the process of redundancy of 46 personnel due to the refurbishment of hotel and takeover. This involved consultation meetings with the individuals concerned and the Union (GMB) and designing selection criteria which were approved by all concerned.
