I currently start the ferryboat engines in the morning, untie the boat, do a ferry safety check, then attend a safety meeting with the Captain. My exp. on ferryboats included training of the methods & procedures used in safety, maintenance & repair of marine equipment, machinery, facilities, training OS’s, & navigation of ferryboats. Navigating the Galveston ferries across Galveston to Port Bolivar the ship channel in darkness, fog, rain, and heavy ship traffic conditions. I have Texas A&M Certificates in: Sea Survival, Helicopter Safety & Egress Course, Fire Fighting, Radar, Personal Safety & Social Responsibility, 12 Hour Personal Safety, 8 Hour First Aide & CPR. I have attended & passed all TX DOT classes, drills, and schools TX DOT has offered during these past 7 years with TX DOT in Galveston & Port Aransas such as CPR, health, safety, blood borne pathogens, defensive driving, man overboard, abandon ship, fire extinguishers, and fire drills, etc. Show less
