About Sandra Rutgers

I am a dynamic, values-based leader with proven experience in developing training programs for court staff in my current role as a Group Leader in the Ontario Court of Justice within the Ministry of the Attorney General’s office. In my current role I promote equitable practices that value diversity and inclusion and support employee engagement as a member of the Joint Anti-Racism Advisory Group and member of the Diversity Committee. I am also the bilingual designate for my court site and have my French Court Services Certification to qualify my proficiency in both written and oral French communication. I have excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills which has assisted me with issues management relative to my current employment within the Ontario Public Service sector as a Group Leader. Under the umbrella of my previous role as a Court and Client Service Representative I worked as a Court Room Clerk, a Records Management Coordinator and New Hire Trainer/ Clerk IT Trainer. In addition to my role as Group Leader I am also a member of several committees promoting career development, networking, employee relations, training, protocol changes, employee engagement and diversity. Over the last two years due to Covid-19, the judicial system has been required to expand from in-person to virtual court proceedings and I have been responsible for providing technical and procedural guidance to staff members in order to operate both virtual court systems; the Justice Virtual Network (JVN) and Zoom. In my extensive experience within the Ontario and Superior Courts of Justice I have proven that I have the ability to acquire knowledge of relevant legislation, rules, case law, policies and procedures of the courts to plan and deliver operational and administrative services to the highest standard. I have continued to perform at the highest standard and provided guidance and information to co-workers, members of the public and legal profession regarding procedural and administrative processes relative to court operations.
