Working with the Public Programs Manager to provide in-house, community-based programs and experiences for the current museum audiences, in addition to working with local communities to identify and encourage new audiences to the museum.

Updating and creating educational programs for the Dickinson County Heritage Center and curating the Jeffcoat Studio Photography Museum. This includes collection work, updating and implementing programs, creating exhibits and labels, setting up and implementing events and any other work as needed.

Facilitate family learning situations for visitors, including programming activities in various galleries, while maintaining cleanliness in the space.

Implement new programming while conducting research and evaluation.Assist in updating and making available visitor materials in addition to writing program plans and inputting survey and evaluation data. Updated the script used by the townspeople during the Headless Horseman event in October. This was a script of talking points to provide for more flexibility during guest interaction as well as ease of use for the children playing various roles. Conducted tracking studies, administered surveys and communicated with staff to update, and re-test an interactive, role-playing program to be implemented in 1836 Prairietown. Materials for guests were altered and produced to assist the program. The program plan was written including school standards and suggested ‘upgrade’ opportunities to add a deeper involvement level for guests.

Duties included laboratory work, bone preparation, excavation and interpretation. I held this internship during the summer of 2007, 2 months during the summer of 2008 and summer 2009.
