"Pre Kids" I graduated with an Associates Degree in Public Relations and found myself working in the financial industry "Post Kids" is where I have done my most fulfilling work as a youth and family advocate. Having volunteered in the schools for many years I saw needs that could be addressed through educating parents. At that time I focused on Parent Education with the Elmbrook Parent Network where I helped revitalize the work of the organization. In 2009 I step further in the Prevention Realm and joined the Drug Free Communities Coalition where I started the First Waukesha County Wide Drug Collection. In 2011 I accepted the position of Co-Chair.The more one learns about youth the more one learns about how the preverbal "times have changed". It's true, times have changed and that can be a very good thing, but with all change comes its counter balance. With the dramatic changes in technology, our understanding of science and the world and advancements in athletic training the one thing that has remained the same is the amount of hours in the day and the rate of brain development. With that in mind it is imperative to EQUIP and EMPOWER our youth to make positive decisions for their health and life. Easier said than done as our youth are bombarded with a plethora of messages from every angle of their lives. It was with this in mind that I founded "Elmbrook Community Health Coalition" in 2011. It is through this organization that I hope to make positive changes in my own community to support Youth Physical and Mental Health, through education and purposeful action and events. To equip and empower our youth with skill sets, beyond academic strength, that they can take into adult life so they can be as healthy, productive and happy as they can be."LIKE" Elmbrook Community Health Coalition on Facebook
