• Trained and lead Kyrgyz Ministry of Health (MOH) and Doctor's without Borders (MSF) field teams in hazard identification assessment, Kyrgyzstan (August-September, 2019) • Wrote sampling protocols for soil, sediment, food, and water sampling, which combined US and Kyrgyz protocols• Organized and conducted QA/QC review of available contamination data from mining communities in Kyrgyzstan • Created maps in QGIS identifying potential sampling locations within the mining communities in Kyrgyzstan• Developed and lead ‘Intro to QGIS’ workshop in Kyrgyzstan in August 2020 for MOH and MSF employees. Created QGIS lesson and worked with translators to present material. Utilized open-source software to assure access and cost-saving for MOH and MSF• Managed environmental data with R statistical software. Built a database incorporating all data collected during the assessment, including 2 field screening methods, results from 4 laboratories, and demographic information from interviews. This database will be used to further the human health risk assessment and help to inform an intervention program.• Created heatmaps of soil mercury concentration for a public report • Created a heavy metal intake calculation spreadsheet in Excel for the risk assessment. This spreadsheet will also be used as training material for MOH and MSF employees during risk assessment workshops in 2021.
