Includes light safety, software sight enhancement, image quality optimization, technological benchmarking, literature reviews, academic collaborations.- User-Centred Design and Human Factors/Ergonomics. Volunteer studies to inform product design at every step, including requirements gathering and definition through field studies.- Regulatory. Leading CE registration of Class I medical device (including Technical File creation and Clinical Evaluation Report). Includes QMS to ISO 13485, Risk Management to ISO 149671, Usability Engineering to BS EN 62366 and Software Development to BS EN 62304.- Clinical Evidence lead. Design and management of NIHR portfolio clinical device study (with Moorfields Eye Hospital London), prepare and manage HRA/IRAS approvals (ethics for clinical research), development of clinical evaluation network through CPMS (40 expressions of interest across NHS).- Project management. Development of an intelligent, feedback-based computer training application using 3D animations developing perceptual clinical skills: www.lamenesstrainer.com. - Technical- and team lead. Secured £10,000 funding for developing clinical gait evaluation skills through 3D animations using a perceptual learning paradigm. Technical implementation, project management between clinical and software partners, budgeting and reporting. Delivery on time exceeding target outcomes, zero issues raised. Outcome now used in many veterinary schools around the world by leading experts in the domain.- Dissemination. Presentation to Camilla Duchess of Cornwall with press coverage. Winner of the President’s Prize for the ‘Best Theatre Presentation’ at 2015 BSAS conference. Demonstration at RVC Open Day to more than 100 visitors. One paper published, more in prep.- Impact. Used today in different veterinary institutions around the world for teaching. >500 Facebook likes. Measurable improvement in ability to correctly recognise and classify gait asymmetry (paper in prep). -
