Experienced civil litigator, whose practice focuses primarily on the defense of premises liability, fire and life safety, motor vehicle torts (including large truck and bus), and clinical laboratory malpractice/negligence, as well as general insurance defense and insurance coverage. My practice is focused in the state and federal courts of Maryland and Washington, D.C., though I am also admitted and have practiced in New York and Pennsylvania state and federal courts.I place a premium on providing my clients an early, comprehensive evaluation of cases in order to enable a fully-informed consideration of all potential paths toward resolution, and on being responsive to their needs throughout the life of a matter.

Handle and manage all aspects of federal and state civil trial and appellate litigation.Maintain lines of communication with clients and insureds to conduct thorough investigation, to obtain understanding of relevant business/industry issues, to assure client's and insured's understanding of case strengths/weaknesses, to explain and develop strategies and recommendations, to respond to inquiries and concerns,and to keep interested persons abreast of matter developments.Communicate case-specific litigation concerns, objectives and strategies to diverse groups of clients and insureds, including business management, in-house counsel, professionals, and first-line employees. Work with clients and insureds at all levels to obtain necessary facts and documents, to assure understanding of risks and issues, to achieve agreement on desired outcome and approach, and to prepare for involvement in depositions and trial. Work closely with expert witnesses/consultants to develop in-depth understanding of applicable business/industry practices and standards, to assess and address potential weaknesses, and to identify, develop and support available defenses in order to resolve matters in a beneficial and cost-effective manner.

Partner in small law practice handling all aspects of federal and state civil trial and appellate litigation. Maintain lines of communication with individual and corporate client representatives to assure their understanding of case strengths/weaknesses, to explain and develop strategies and recommendations, to respond to inquiries and concerns, to keep abreast of matter developments, and to prepare representatives for participation in litigation-related events such as deposition and trial.Effectively communicate case-specific litigation concerns, objectives and strategies to diverse groups within corporate client structure, including business management, in-house counsel, outside experts, and first-line employees, to assure understanding of risks and issues and agreement on desired outcome and approach to successful resolution. As member of MDL litigation team, managed and oversaw seven-state portion of firm’s 350+ case docket as national counsel, including coordination of scheduling, discovery, and case reporting, and drafting of pleadings, discovery, and motions, as well as communication with and direction of local counsel in assigned states.

Handle all aspects of civil litigation defense in areas of products liability, clinical laboratory malpractice, pharmaceutical/medical device, fire/life safety systems, and general insurance defense.Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on issues critical to pending litigation matters in order to aid in assessment of potential liability, develop and bolster defenses, and prepare motions/pleadings.
