I am the Principal of Sandra Willis Legal, on the Board of Directors of Biathlon Australia and Harness Racing South Australia, on the Biathlon Australia Selection Committee and the HRSA Animal Welfare Committee, the Biathlon Australia Child Safety Officer, and a member of the AICD. I specialise in Media/Technology and Corporate/Commercial Law, where I provide legal advice on a range of contemporary media and technology matters including copyright, Intellectual property, film and television funding & production, digital media content & online distribution, music licensing, merchandise, computer games and Omnidata intelligence. I also have extensive expertise in providing business identification, strategic planning, corporate/commercial negotiation and legal contracting services. I bring exceptionally strong governance and strategic planning skills to my Head of Legal and Board positions and always apply my strong work ethic, commercial nous, creativity and strategic vision to every role I undertake. In addition, I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills developed through my voluntary work as a Lifeline Counsellor, Surf Life Saver and my role as a team leader. I am empathetic and emotionally intelligent and am extraordinarily passionate about the importance of inclusivity and diversity in the workplace, having experienced the difficulties my parents faced when they first migrated from the Ukraine to Australia.I started my legal career in the Corporate Division of Allen Allen and Hemsley in Sydney and subsequently worked at Mallesons Stephen Jaques before I commenced working as Head of Legal and Business Affairs for Columbia TriStar. I was the Head of Legal and Business Affairs for Screentime Pty Ltd, a film and television production company best known for its Underbelly television series, for over 12 years before leaving to start up my own Media, Technology and Corporate/Commercial Law Firm. Shortly after I commenced work at Screentime I was appointed to the Executive Committee which comprised the CEO Bob Campbell, Executive Director Desmond Monaghan, Head of Finance and myself. The Executive Committee was responsible for creating the commercial, financial, business, strategy and creative vision of the company and reported directly to the Board.I am fit, energetic, creative and passionate about my work and collaborating with my fellow colleagues and team members.
