I started my career in software support by answering an ad in the newspaper for a math major. Little did I know that simple wanted ad would lead to 28 years helping customers resolve utility billing, accounting, payroll, property tax, and court administration.I started with a company known then as Software and Computer Technology, which later became Affiliated Computer Services. In the 12 years I was there, I gained knowledge in utility billing and accounting and honed my problem solving skills. I supported a product line called PSAS on an IBM AS400 system. I earned may awards for customer satisfaction and teamwork. When the software was sold to a group in Nigeria, I was selected to do the training for them. I worked closely with the team for a month before they returned home.My career moved to another company in 2006, known then as United System Technology Inc, then it became Stardyne and lastly CentralSquare. In my 18 years there, I spent 16 doing customer support on the product asyst. The last 2 years, I spent in the development department, doing quality on defect and enhancement to the software.I find problem solving data issues and software issues rewarding when the solution is found and knowing if changes have to be made to the software or to the customer process. I like learning new things and growing my skills. I also know I love working from home. The last 18 years were all done remotely and although it has not always been easy, I have found it rewarding.
