I have had many years in the business of IT, starting out my career as a developer I have traversed the industry through many roles and as a result have a very solid base understanding of all things IT. I enjoy working at a senior management level focusing on Information Security, Strategy and Governance. I have found my strength in ITGRC and enjoy evolving the maturity of Governance Frameworks and the challenge of effective Risk management and Cyber Resilience. I specialize in the Governance of enterprise IT, Information Security Risk Management. I am best known for my successes in managing risk on highly complex IT-enabled projects. I have a knack for simplifying complex theory into practical solutions and engage well with internal teams and clients.Areas of expertise include Information Security Management (including secure Systems design), Risk Management Frameworks, PoPI compliance, Governance of Enterprise IT, IT Audit, Strategy Development, Enterprise Architecture, Policy, Development Methodologies and frameworks.I enjoy work that is challenging and requires continuous learning.On the matter of Information security and Cyber resilience, I view these as two interconnected but disparate things. The first is the adoption of an integrated holistic capability to manage information security across the organization and includes both IT security and Business Operations security. Cyber resilience is about having the ability to defend your organization (prevent a cyber event) but to also build the controls needed to defend against an active event and to recover quickly when a cyber event has occurred.
