At Tiptree, we built a public company finance organization from scratch. We assessed the needs of the company, and then, designed KPIs and reporting to align management on value drivers and growth metrics to support smart capital allocation decisions.In 2021, I led Warburg Pincus’s $200 million investment in Tiptree’s specialty insurance company, providing an independent view of its valuation. My ability to understand and align Warburg’s private equity requirements with the factors driving a public investor's view of Tiptree’s value increased shareholder value by 50%.An entity’s value is driven by sustained growth and predictable earnings. Neither is possible without both understanding a firm’s cost of capital and return on equity and a focus on disciplined liquidity and risk management. My innate ability to align the right capital structure to a business’s cash flow delivers sustained returns and increased value. At PHH during the 2008 credit crisis, we persuaded the Fed to include fleet leases in its pivotal TALF program, renewing liquidity access for our fleet business. This type of innovative thinking is why I am an effective strategic partner. I thrive partnering with smart people who challenge me and an organization to do more. As a leader, I consider mentoring integral to building a talented financial team, with several colleagues now occupying C-suite roles. From driving value to building teams, I view my actions through a lens of doing the right thing, for shareholders and employees.
