Civil Engineer for the City of Fort Collins Utilities responsible for managing the annual replacement of Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater pipe projects utilizing internal Water Field Operations construction and maintenance crews. At the City of Fort Collins, I am a civil engineer assisting with management of the City’s’ Stormwater Master Plan Program and Floodplain Management for locally and federally designated floodplains. My job responsibilities include: • Reviewing FEMA Conditional Letter of Map Revisions(CLOMR’s) and Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) submittals for basic requirements and compliance with local floodplain regulations.• Supporting the preparation of documentation for the City’s participation in the National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS).• Assisting with emergency preparedness and response activities related to flooding, including serving as an on-call person for the City’s flood warning system.• Conducting public outreach related to flood awareness and education such as preparation of brochures, handouts, web site, presentations, etc.• Providing explanations of floodplain requirements to the general public, developers, engineers, architects, community groups, other City departments, City Council, boards and commissions, media, etc. at meetings, during phone calls, in brochures, etc. Involves research of current maps and regulations, past studies, methods, and property locations.• Performing field reconnaissance and inspects construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.• Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to prepare maps, exhibits and information.• Preparing correspondence and providing information for distribution and/or presentation to other agencies, other city departments, public, special interest groups, property owners, and consultants.
