Youth Services Coordinator-Step Up ProgramState Of Minnesota May 2019 - Sep 2022Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area☐ StepUpThe StepUp program connects Minneapolis youth ages 14-21 with internships at multiple companies, public agencies, and non-profit organizations across diverse industries. I provide project management for the program, including building relationships within the Twin Cities community, focusing on methods for cultivating a strong base of future skilled workers. DEED coordinated the internships for 14–15-year-olds.♦ In response to COVID, I continued supervising the program reorganization, including placement and onboarding. The modification was a difficult process with a large learning curve. The team rallied and we interviewed over 500 youth in 2022 to fill 325 (2021) and 650 to fill 350 (2022) internships. Internships were either in-person, hybrid, or virtual internships.♦ Led the team that assured that none of the youth or organizations were adversely impacted by the pandemic.♦ Collaborated with DEED and City Staff to accomplish hiring and mentoring of StepUp interns.♦ Supported onboarding of Transition Plus students as StepUp Interns.♦ Part of the Team that planned, organized, and executed four in-person days. Including designing a Passport. This is the navigation tool youth use to move through the Placement Process. The team helps youth navigate a pre-placement day pipeline. This included efforts to help youth who had issues with the process and obtaining the correct employment documents.♦ Help recruit Staff and volunteers for all parts of the program☐ Youth Program♦ Participated in Teen Job Fair for youth 14 to 21 with the Minneapolis Park Board.♦ Conducted mock Interviews for the Transition Plus program.♦ Guest Career Speaker for Transition Plus.♦ Organized and executed Manufacturing Tour for Transition Plus and a charter school. -
